Both platforms are excellent. The real question is which fits how business works in your market.
Shopify
Pros: fast setup, no server maintenance, large app store.
Watch out for: Shopify's built-in payments aren't available in every country, local bank gateways usually need extra integration, local couriers rarely have ready Shopify apps, and subscription plus fees grow with sales.
WooCommerce
Pros: no platform subscription, straightforward integration with local banks and cash on delivery, ready courier plugins (we have ELS Express and Kargo Express), connects to POS and accounting, and you own everything.
Requires: good hosting and regular maintenance.
Our take
For stores selling mainly in North Macedonia and the region, WooCommerce is usually the more practical choice. Shopify makes sense if you sell mostly abroad and need no local integrations.
